Island guide
Tenerife
A varied Canary Island base with shore and boat diving, volcanic terrain and sites ranging from accessible reefs to deep, current-sensitive dives.

A broad base for a dive trip
Tenerife has many established dive centres and a useful range of site types. A simple island-wide difficulty label would be misleading: Montaña Amarilla and Tabaiba are planned very differently from deeper sites such as La Rapadura or La Catedral.
How to choose a site
Ask a centre about the coast, entry, depth, current and the experience expected for the planned dive. Sea state can change which sites are sensible on a particular day.

- Do not combine diving and a rapid journey to high altitude without appropriate professional guidance.
- Treat wildlife encounters as possibilities, not promises.
